25th Anniversary Saxophone Recital

February 15, 2013

Vince Gnojek will be presenting a Silver Anniversary Saxophone Recital on Sunday March 10, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in celebration of 25 years of teaching at the University of Kansas. Featured soloists will be former KU saxophone students: Paul Haar from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Nate Jorgensen from South Dakota State University, and Todd Wilkinson from Ottawa University. The second half of the program includes a saxophone ensemble arrangement of Concertino da Camera by Jacques Ibert featuring Professor Gnojek, followed by a KU Saxophone Studio/KU Alumni Saxophone Ensemble playing selections from Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. Former students wishing to participate in the saxophone ensemble need to attend the rehearsal on Saturday March 9th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in Swarthout Recital Hall. Martin Bergee, Associate Dean of the School of Music and Sharon Toulouse, Assistant Director of Bands will conduct the saxophone ensembles.

In honor of this 25th Anniversary Celebration, and as part of Far Above: The Campaign for Kansas, Professor Gnojek is initiating a saxophone scholarship drive with a generous personal contribution. Anyone wishing to donate to the scholarship fund may do so at the recital or at any time in the future. To learn more about the KU Saxophone Scholarship or to make a donation, please visit http://kuendowment.org/vincegnojek or contact Michael Arp at 785-832-7410 or marp@kuendowment.org.

We hope that you will join us for Professor Gnojek’s 25th Anniversary Celebration!
